Out of the Darkness Community Walk

On Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., join others to bring new light on the subject of suicide and mental illness. The Out of the Darkness Community Walk will start at Harris Pavilion. This event is for the whole family. This walk symbolizes the need for more preventative measures and to invest in new clinical studies and programs. Raising funds allows the American Foundation for Suicide to increase its awareness platform and help prevent suicide. On a more personal level, this walk is designed to support survivors of suicide. Loved ones can mourn their loss by collectively joining others on a pilgrimage of remembrance. American Foundation for Suicide wants to curb suicide rates by 20 percent in the next eight years, so make a step in the right direction and join the walk.

The 7th Annual Bands, Brews, & Barbecue

On Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., the Manassas Museum will host the 7th Annual Bands, Brews, & Barbecue. More than 60 different beers are offered from numerous brewing companies and are ready for the taste test.

This event, coupled with live music, makes for one unforgettable adventure of good eating and great beer. The bands start playing at noon and continue sets during the afternoon. The pièce de résistance for ticket holders is the barbecue. The 7th Annual Bands, Brews, & Barbecue delivers plenty of mouthwatering food and the best barbecue on the northern side of Virginia.

Heritage Festival

On Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Prince William Forest Park Cabin Camp 4 hosts the legendary Heritage Festival. This festival offers everything a sightseer wants from a day of discovery. The festival presents demonstrations and exhibits. Each year this festival hosts historic down-home bluegrass music by the best bands in the country. Craft items are also a big attention getter, and while visitors are taking in the sights check out the Civilian Conservation Corps cabin camps. Learn about the military and historic qualities of this national park.

Occoquan Arts and Crafts Show

The festive kinship of hometown experience is what draws people to this arts and crafts show in downtown Occoquan. This humble town delivers a flicker of the past and has a 300-year legacy in history. For this show, vendors set up tents and display their art. Live music fills the air with joyous sound for the whole family. Marvelous food choices are available too.
