Say Cheers for the Pups at Pints for Pits

Pints for Pits Pit Bull

Raise your glass and toast pit bulls at Pints for Pits at Heritage Brewing in Manassas. The event will include custom brews, adoptable dogs, and raffles. One dollar of every pint purchased will go Vindicated Pit Bull Rescue, so come by and have a drink for charity. The event is on Sunday, Oct. 22 from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and it’ll be a good time for all.

Make the event even more fun by learning some pit bull facts to share with others. These facts will make for some great bar trivia during the event.

Pit Bulls Are American Heroes

Have you ever heard of Sgt. Stubby? The sergeant is believed to be a pit bull predecessor and is the most decorated dog to ever serve in the United States military. He fought in the trenches, right alongside human soldiers. This cute little sergeant received a purple heart and eventually retired from the military at the same time as his handler. This is a great example of the breed. Pit bulls are brave and loyal, and they will stay by their human’s side to the end. What a great example of the pit bull spirit.

Pit Bulls Are Very Trainable

If you like the idea of getting a dog that’s easy to train, a pit bull might be right for you. These dogs are extremely eager to please, so they will do as you say during training. Obedience classes are a good option for these dogs. Consider taking it a step further with agility or trick training once your pup gets basic obedience down. He will love showing off for your human friends.

They Need Homes

Only 5 percent of the dogs in the United States are labeled as pit bulls, but they make up 20 percent of the dogs in shelters. That means they need homes. Fortunately, you can take one of these fun-loving dogs home at the Pints for Pits event. Don’t just drink a beer in honor of these dogs. Consider inviting one into your home. Pit bulls are very good with people and will enjoy spending time with human companions. In fact, don’t be surprised if your new pit bull thinks he’s a lap dog.

Pit bulls are the perfect home companions, and Toyotas are the perfect road companions. Stop by Miller Toyota in Manassas, Virginia, before the Pints for Pits event and get a new vehicle to take around with you. Then, you can put your new pit in the Toyota and take him home to stay.
