Don’t Miss This Year’s Tree Lighting Ceremony

Christmas is right around the corner, and everyone can already feel the energy building for the holiday to start. While some people around your community may have already adorned their homes with wreaths and their Christmas, there is something special when the city gathers together to start the holiday. For the residents of Manassas, the official start of Christmas is celebrated with the Santa Lights Manassas event. Be a part of all the festivities this year.

Santa Lights Manassas

For over 25 years, the community of Manassas, Virginia, has congregated together for Santa Lights Manassas. Santa Lights Manassas is the city’s annual tree lighting ceremony. Each year, the tree lighting ceremony is held the first Friday night in December at 5:15 pm.

What To Expect

For every Santa Lights Manassas, the night starts with Christmas musical performances. At the Manassas Railroad Depot, Santa Claus will make an appearance at 6 pm after hopping off a VRE train. Kris Kringle will light the city tree, then he will say hello to all the children at the Harris Pavilion gazebo as they tell Santa their wish list. Other activities you can participate in the event include a free wagon ride and ice skating at the Harris Pavilion Ice Rink. You will also be able to check out the local downtown shops and restaurants.
