The history and excitement that you can experience on a train is something we have forgotten in the age of fast airplane rides to the destinations we are traveling to. There is something about trains that bring up the excitement of a different period in history. Trains are used for so many things in this country and learning the history and how they have changed over the last 100 years.

When and Where

Make your way to the 23rd Annual Heritage Railway Festival on June 3, 2017, from 10 am to 3 pm in Historic Downtown Manassas.

23rd Annual Heritage Railway Festival:

The 23rd Annual Heritage Railway Festival is a family-friendly celebration of railroad history. It will feature train memorabilia, live music, and many specialty vendors. The live music will be country and bluegrass bringing you back in time to when the railroads were king. There will be exciting train displays for you to enjoy.

Watching these little trains roll down the tracks created by local model train groups will have you dreaming of a time when things were simpler. These train models will be located under the Harris Pavilion, so don’t leave without seeing the amazing work these groups have put into their models.

Take a Real Train Ride

After you have let your imagination put you inside one of the many train displays under the Harris Pavilion, you can take a ride on a real train! The train excursion tickets are $5 cash and $6 for payments made with credit or debit cards. The train will be leaving the station at one-hour intervals, running from 10 am to 1 pm. Travel to Clifton and back during this train ride.

Fun for the Kids

The kids will have a blast on the first two trains. Chase from Paw Patrol will be on hand to entertain the young riders as they embark on their journey. The afternoon trains will have Princess Belle to make the journey a magical experience for you and your children.
