The 2025 Toyota Tacoma is a practical midsize pickup truck that offers everyday utility and excellent off-road capabilities. Its robust powertrain options and spacious front seats make it a reliable partner for a variety of activities. Those interested in the 2025 Tacoma can choose from eight trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD PreRunner, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, Trailhunter, and TRD Pro.

The two-door XtraCab, which serves as a regular cab with extra space behind the seats, comes exclusively with a 6-foot bed. This XtraCab is the only 2-seat truck available in its category and is offered only in the SR, SR5, or PreRunner trims.
The appearance of the latest Tacoma is impressive. Toyota has replaced the rounded contours of the previous model with a sharper, more rugged design. Exciting body modifications include steel skid plates, an optional snorkel air intake, and a grille that replaces the familiar logo with “TOYOTA” displayed in uppercase letters.

All three powertrain options of the Tacoma are centered around a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Most models feature the variant that delivers 278 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. A 6-speed manual transmission is also available, which slightly reduces the power output to 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The base SR model has a version producing 228 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque.
Four-wheel drive is offered in all models. The Toyota Tacoma has a maximum towing capacity of 6,500 pounds and a maximum payload capacity of 1,705 pounds.
