The Toyota Highlander recently was named a Best Buy by Kelley Blue Book in the Midsize SUV class. Here at Miller Toyota in Manassas, we always like seeing revolutionary new designs. Upon its release, the new 2015 Toyota Highlander created a lot of buzz around the automobile community for its bold redesign, which pushed the expectations of how an SUV should look. But in the face of stiff competition from rival lineups, few could really be sure about which model would walk away with all the awards. However, the awards are starting to roll in and the 2015 Toyota Highlander has claimed the top prize: Best Mid-size SUV from the talented people at Kelley’s Blue Book.

Why the New Highlander Won

The Highlander sports many new features which caught the attention of car critics everywhere. Specifically, the people at Kelley’s Blue Book cited its superior performance—it can tow 5000 pounds and generate 270 horsepower on a 3.5L V6—while also stressing that the Highlander is “biased towards comfort,” making it the ideal large vehicle for families. They also cite Toyota’s iconic trait of retaining its value over time better than its competitors, giving its $30,000 price tag for the base model more than capable of keeping that same price while you pay it off.
