Discover the Toyota Prius in Manassas, VA

Almost everyone knows about and loves the Toyota Prius. This was one of the first hybrids available in the United States, and the very first one to offer practicality with seating for four and reasonable pricing. Since then, the Prius has evolved, and its lineup expanded significantly.

The original Prius hatchback is now stylish and packed with technology and features. There are also more configurations than ever before thanks to the Prius Prime plug-in hybrid, including the compact Prius c, and the slightly larger Prius v. Factor in trim levels, and you should have no problem finding the ideal Prius for your needs.

The Prius is now just like any other Toyota that you will find, although it just so happens to have impressive fuel economy thanks to its hybrid powertrain. The latest trim even comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense, including Lane Departure Alert, a Pre-Collision System featuring Pedestrian Detection and more. The exterior is sleek and bold with LED lighting elements while the interior has room to stretch out. It also boasts the latest technology, including available wireless charging for your smartphone and up to 65.5 cubic feet of cargo space.

Options include an excellent 8-speaker JBL sound system and a larger 12.3-inch touch screen. Under the hood, Toyota’s latest 2.0-liter hybrid powertrain grants 194 horsepower on the regular variant and 220 horsepower for the 2023 Prius Prime. Furthermore, the 2023 Prius includes Toyota’s latest Safety Sense 3.0 package, eight airbags, adaptive cruise control, and a host of active and passive safety features.

The History of the Prius

When the Toyota Prius arrived just over 15 years ago, it certainly was not the most stylish vehicle on the road. Instead, this original Prius focused on practicality. It combined a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with a permanent magnet AC electric motor, as well as a 276-volt nickel metal hybride battery. Right from the start, the Prius was a success, but the second generation did even better. This second generation was given the liftback design that has since become iconic. As for the cargo space, it received a flat floor, making it more practical and spacious.

Toyota began to expand the Prius lineup in 2011, starting with the Prius v that featured a more practical, larger size. The Prius c went smaller and more compact, improving fuel economy. The Prius Plug-In Hybrid arrived in 2012 with the ability to go 11 miles completely emission free. The 2016 model year brought in the fourth generation, which was more efficient. It also offered two different battery packs, both smaller and lighter than before, further helping efficiency and performance.
