Full-size pickup trucks have become the default choice for buyers who need a lot of towing and payload capacity. Plus, the full-size pickup truck offers plenty of performance, whether in urban or off-road environments. Models like the 2024 Toyota Tundra and the 2024 Nissan Titan also offer excellent reliability, ample technological features, and impressive creature comforts.
Let's have a Tundra vs. Titan shakedown to see how these trucks stack up. We'll evaluate each truck's safety equipment and performance capabilities. We'll also see how their interior amenities compare. Then, we can tell you which one seems like the best buy. You can also learn more about the 2024 Tundra at Miller Toyota. You could even swing by our Manassas, VA-based showroom and take a 2024 Tundra for a spin.
The 2024 Toyota Tundra is available with two four-door cabs for buyers to pick. The 2024 Nissan Titan also offers two four-door cabs. For this faceoff, we'll select each model's largest cab style. The 2024 Tundra offers a little more space in its cabin, but the difference is noticeable in the rear seat. The 2024 Tundra has more rear head and legroom, making it more comfortable for passengers. Then, buyers can opt for features such as semi-aniline leather seat upholstery and American Walnut wood interior accents. These aren't available for the 2024 Titan.
The 2024 Tundra and the 2024 Titan have standard Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®. They also come with Bluetooth® hands-free and wireless audio streaming. Toyota also offers the 2024 Tundra with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster for higher trims. The 2024 Titan doesn’t have this feature. Other 2024 Tundra options include a 12-speaker JBL premium sound system, a Wi-Fi® hotspot, and a wireless phone charger.
Toyota offers some impressive convenience and comfort features for higher trims of the 2024 Tundra. Buyers can choose dual-zone automatic climate control with rear passenger air vents. They can also specify powered, heated, and ventilated front seats. The outboard rear seats can also be fitted with heating capabilities. Then, there's a panoramic moonroof available. Meanwhile, the front windshield and side windows can be specified with acoustically insulated glass for extra-comfortable trips.
The 2024 Tundra offers two cargo beds for its largest cab. Buyers can opt for a 5.5-foot bed or a longer 6.5-foot bed. The 2024 Titan only has a 5.5-foot bed for its largest cab. Hence, the 2024 Tundra can carry longer objects. Furthermore, you can even specify a power-operated rear window. Here, you can safely carry longer items by extending them into the rear passenger compartment. You can't do this with the 2024 Titan.
The base trim of the 2024 Toyota Tundra has a 3.4-liter, 348 horsepower V6 engine with a torque output of 405 pound-feet. All other trims have engines that produce 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Some trims also have steering wheel-mounted gear shift paddles. Depending on trim, buyers may opt for rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Some trims are only available in four-wheel drive. Toyota also offers some TRD trims. These have all-terrain tires, underbody skid plates, and Bilstein or FOX Racing suspension. Buyers can also choose a factory-fitted 3-inch lift kit for most trims.
Nissan only offers the 2024 Titan with a 5.6-liter, 400 horsepower, and a V8 engine. The engine is rated with a torque output of 413 pound-feet. It drives the rear wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can pick an RWD or 4WD configuration. Nissan also provides a Pro-4X trim for enhanced off-road abilities. This comes with four-wheel drive, sturdier suspension, underbody protection, and all-terrain tires.
The 2024 Tundra is rated to tow up to 12,000 pounds. The 2024 Titan can only handle up to 9,660 pounds. The 2024 Tundra also has a better payload capacity, at 1,940 pounds. Meanwhile, the 2024 Titan can only carry up to 1,600 pounds. Furthermore, Toyota also offers a hybrid powertrain for the 2024 Tundra. This has 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. There’s no hybrid variant of the 2024 Titan.
The 2024 Toyota Tundra range has the Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.5 suite as standard. Hence, all trims have full-speed range dynamic radar-guided cruise control, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. Then, there's a lane departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and automatic high beams. Higher trims add blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The 2024 Titan doesn't have many of these as standard fitment.
The 2024 Toyota Tundra is our recommended full-size pickup truck. Its interior includes many comfort and safety features, and it’s available with high-performance powertrains. So why not consider buying or leasing one? Come to Miller Toyota in Manassas, VA, and let's get started on your new truck purchase.
