Attend Virginia Tech’s 10th Annual Golf Tournament

The Prince William Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association is having their annual golf tournament on June 9th, 2017. It’s sure to be lots of fun. However, the focus of this event isn’t solely upon having a good time. It also helps a great cause! Read to discover more about this annual event.

Virginia Tech Alumni Give Back

Since 2008, the Prince William Chapter has held this tournament to help raise money for scholarship initiatives. From this time, the Alumni have raised well over $66,000. Additionally, they have awarded wover 40 scholarships to deserving students.

The main goal of this group is to encourage scholarship amongst the youth, as well as volunteering in the community. Thanks to this tournament, they are able to do just that!

10th Annual Golf Tournament

The 10th Annual Golf Tournament will take place Friday, June 9th and will be held at Bull Run Golf Club in Haymarket, VA. Registration begins at 7 AM, and the festivities kick off at 8 AM. The format for this tournament is 4-player scramble. Participation costs $440/foursome or $125/individual. This fee covers green fees, practice balls, a golf cart, awards, prizes, contest, and raffle. Additionally, each person will receive a goodie bag with a gift, along with a Chick-Fil-A breakfast, beverages, and a luncheon provided by The Bone. Those who desire to participate in this event must pay in advance by check or via Paypal. So, gather your team, register, and make your payments as soon as possible!

The proceeds from the tournament go towards funding scholarships for students from Prince William County high schools who plan to attend Virginia Tech. Since the university is dedicated to serving others, this scholarship is awarded based off of students’ community service involvement.

Raffle, Awards, and Contests

Aside from the tournament, there will be other great activities to enjoy at this event. These include a raffle and silent auction, plus team and individual awards. Additionally, this tournament will host multiple contests. Get excited about the contests for team putting, longest drive, straightest drive, closest-to-pin, and hole-in-one!
